To My Mama - ct

Oh, my mama, you know I miss you so.
Through the laughs and tears we share
The pain, the joy, and even the bitter words
I\'ve always known you care.

I\'ve found great comfort in knowing that
When the rest of the world wants me gone
My sweet mama was always there to defend me
I\'ve never been alone.

Now I hear the happiness in your voice
I know it\'s knocking at your door
And I want for you what you want for me
Maybe even a little more.

I know you think you don\'t deserve such love
You\'ve never known it for yourself
You\'ve been content to give and give
And put your own needs on the shelf.

Don\'t be afraid to live and love,
There\'s no way it can cause more pain
than you have known
Don\'t be ashamed to stand up for it
even when you might be wrong.

With that beautiful voice you should sing, sing
and never refuse a dance.
How dare you turn you nose up
at love\'s second chance.
